About the School

Founded in 1764, Brown University is a private Ivy League university. Located in Providence, Rhode Island, Brown has a 146-acre urban campus. Enrollment is approximately 7,000 undergraduate and 2,000 graduate students. With an acceptance rate of less than 10%, Brown is known for its engineering program and open curriculum. Brown is in the Ivy League Conference in the NCAA Division 1. There are also club and intramural sports on campus. Around 9% of students participate in “Greek Life” across 14 fraternities and sororities. Brown University has a Catholic Community, Thomistic Institute chapter and FOCUS ministry.
