About the School
Founded in 1902, Fort Hays State University, or FHSU, is a public university. Located in Hays, Kansas, its 200-acre rural campus is about 175 miles northwest of Wichita. Enrollment is approximately 13,000 undergraduate and 4,000 graduate students. Fort Hays State University is in the Mid-American Intercollegiate Athletics Association in the NCAA Division 2. There are also club and intramural sports on campus. Around 10% of students participate in “Greek Life” across 8 fraternities and sororities. FHSU has a Comeau Catholic Campus Center and FOCUS ministry.
