About the School
Founded in 1821, George Washington University, or GWU, is a private university. Located in Washington D.C., its urban campus is 43 acres. Enrollment is approximately 12,000 undergraduate and 10,000 graduate students. George Washington University is in the Atlantic 10 Conference in the NCAA Division 1. There are also club and intramural sports on campus. Around 20% of students participate in “Greek Life” across 35 fraternities and sororities. George Washington University has a Newman Center and FOCUS ministry.
