About the School
Founded in 1957, Oakland University is a public university. Located in Rochester, Michigan, Oakland’s 1,444-acre campus is about 30 miles from Detroit. Enrollment is approximately 15,000 undergraduate and 3,000 graduate students. Oakland is in the Horizon League in the NCAA Division 1. There are also club and intramural sports on campus. Around 2% of students participate in “Greek Life” across 17 fraternities and sororities. Oakland University has a Catholic Campus Ministry connected to the St. John Fisher Chapel University Parish.
