About the School
Founded in 1867, University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, or UIUC, is a public university with an endowment over $2 billion. Located in Champaign County, Illinois, its 1,783-acre rural campus is about 150 miles south of Chicago. Enrollment is approximately 34,000 undergraduate and 9,000 graduate students. UIUC is in the Big Ten Conference in the NCAA Division 1. There are also club and intramural sports on campus. Around 24% of students participate in “Greek Life” across 95 fraternities and sororities. UIUC has a Newman Center where students can live, Thomistic Institute chapter, and FOCUS ministry.
