About the School

Founded in 1838, Virginia Commonwealth University, or VCU, is a public research university. Located in Richmond, Virginia, VCU’s urban campus is 169 acres. Enrollment is approximately 22,000 undergraduate and 9,000 graduate students. VCU is in the Atlantic 10 Conference in the NCAA Division 1. There are also club and intramural sports on campus. Around 5% of students participate in “Greek Life” across 37 fraternities and sororities. VCU has a Newman Center.
